What do you use to make icons?

Program: Photoshop/Imageready 7.

Fonts:A ton of stuff from dafont.com - my current favorite is Pixelsix. On the older icons, the pixel fonts I used are from pixelyn. I have also been known to use fonts from Blambot and fontalicious, along with a few instances of Silkscreen.

Brushes: I use icon brushes by quebelly (site) fairly often. I also have quite a variety of stuff from the now-defunct Nocturna and the LJ community 100x100_brushes.

Picture Source: TFN and Jedinet, with the occasional foray into the (free) sections of starwars.com for Star Wars; theRaider for Indiana Jones; Tori photos from Here In My Head and In Her Palm. The rest come from my own screencaps, cap_it, stock.xchng, or Google image searches.

Are there limitations on icon use?

Some. I don't require you to put my username in the keywords, but it's always appreciated. If you do keyword credit, please just use my LJ user name (snarkel.) If you're on Journalfen, please credit dunc. (Let it be noted I am NOT the 'dunc' on Livejournal - I have no idea who that is. Except it's not me.)

You can use the icons on a message board or Myspace or whatever - just make sure you upload them somewhere else first, because hotlinking them will not work. And it'll piss me off. So don't do it.

Do you take requests?

Try asking on starwarsicons first. Tori fans, ask on toricons.

What's up with the 'My Fandom' thing?

It was Livejournal in-joke... A way to proclaim your fandom via icon while being ironic. A Good 'My Fandom' icon is tounge-in-cheek - in the sense that it's OKAY to admit that you enjoy watching movies that are basically the modern equivalent of guys in bigger rubber suits running around. Really.

I started making icons when the 'My Fandom' thing was big, because I'd never seen any for Star Wars. That's why I have so many.

Now, honestly... it's tired and I'm bored with it, but the icons remain.

Do you hate the prequels? Why are't there more PT icons?

I don't hate the prequels. I'm not all that impressed with them, and yes, sometimes that comes through, but I certainly don't hate them. They are excellent for mocking. (And for christsake, mocking does not equal hate. Mocking = mocking.)
